1. Information We Collect

• Authentication Data: Email address and account credentials used to create and manage your SOS Cat account, including sign-in via email, Google, or Apple.

• Usage and Journey Data: Information you enter or generate while using SOS Cat to support your smoking cessation journey, including quit dates, craving logs, triggers, relapse events, journal entries, milestone progress, SOS completion counts, onboarding questionnaire responses, and other smoking cessation records related to your use of the service.

• Device Information: When you grant consent for crash reporting, Firebase Crashlytics may collect device type, operating system version, app version, and related diagnostic information necessary to investigate crashes.

• Support Information: When you contact SOS Cat support, the app may pre-fill your email draft with technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and account identifier to help us troubleshoot issues. This information is only shared with us when you choose to send the email.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve this service and deliver the features you use.

• Crash Reporting: We use Crashlytics (Google Firebase) to automatically capture app crashes and bugs, but only after you grant consent. No crash data is collected before consent.

• Account Management: To authenticate users, reset passwords, and manage account settings.

• Support: To respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and troubleshoot issues.

• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations.

3. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

• Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, all personal data (smoking logs, journals, contact information) is permanently deleted from our servers immediately or within a reasonable period not exceeding 30 days.

• De-identified analytics: Non-personal analytics data may be retained longer for service improvement, but cannot be linked to you.

• Withdrawal of Consent: If you withdraw consent for analytics or crash reporting, we will stop collecting and processing such data going forward. Information previously collected under a valid consent may be retained in de-identified or aggregated form for service improvement, research, statistical, and operational purposes, and can no longer be linked to your identity.

4. Data Security

• Your data is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest in our Supabase database.

• We implement row-level security to ensure you can only access your own data.

• We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

• Google Crashlytics: For app crash reporting and debugging only, and only after you grant consent. Data is governed by Google's privacy policy.

• Supabase (PostgreSQL): Our backend platform for authentication, database services, storage of user data, and processing of user activity data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and protected by Supabase's security measures.

6. Audio & Music Content

• SOS Cat may provide music, audio tracks, soundscapes, voice content, or other audio experiences intended to support smoking cessation, relaxation, focus, motivation, or emotional well-being.

• Some music and audio content in SOS Cat is created with AI-assisted tools and curated, selected, and integrated by the SOS Cat team.

• Audio content is provided for informational, wellness, entertainment, and user experience purposes only. It is not medical treatment, therapy, psychological counseling, or a substitute for professional healthcare advice.

• We do not guarantee that any music or audio content will reduce cravings, improve health outcomes, prevent relapse, or result in successful smoking cessation.

• Audio playback activity: If enabled, SOS Cat may collect audio playback events, such as play events, skips, listening duration, and playback preferences, to improve the quality of the audio experience. Where required by applicable law, such collection will only occur after you provide your consent.

• Audio content provided within SOS Cat is intended for use within the App experience. Users may not copy, redistribute, reproduce, resell, or publicly distribute such content without authorization.

7. Your Rights

• Access: You can request access to, review, or obtain a copy of your personal data by contacting us.

• Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data by using the "Delete Account" feature in Settings.

• Opt-Out: You can disable crash reporting and analytics in Settings at any time. If you withdraw consent, we will stop collecting and processing analytics and crash-reporting data going forward. This will not automatically delete information previously collected under a valid consent if that information has been de-identified or aggregated and can no longer be linked to your identity.

• GDPR Rights: If you are located in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Contact us at support@soscat.app to exercise these rights. After verifying your identity, we will provide a copy of your personal data in a commonly used electronic format where applicable.

8. Legal Basis for Data Processing (GDPR)

We process your data based on the following legal grounds:

• Your Consent: Processing for crash reporting and analytics after you grant consent.

• Performance of Contract: Processing necessary to provide SOS Cat and deliver features you use.

• Legitimate Interests: Processing to improve our service, enhance security, and understand user behavior.

• Compliance with Legal Obligations: Processing to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including the United States. We take appropriate safeguards to protect your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR. By using SOS Cat, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence.

10. Age Restriction

SOS Cat is not intended for users under 13 years of age. If we discover that a user under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete such data immediately.
